In this sermon, Pastor Nathan asks “What did Jesus teach about purity?” Purity is a focus, heart condition. How do we get a pure heart? Pastor reads the Scripture passage and teaches that words reveal and impact your heart; words are the biggest problem to solve. So: 1 – Ask God for a new heart, 2 – Guard your heart, 3 – Give thanks. Make thanksgiving a habit as it helps us focus on Him. Pastor also teaches that the #1 way to guard your heart is to play attention to what you listen to (music, news, talk, etc) because it plays into what you speak. In this sermon, Pastor Nathan teaches: “Get to know Jesus while you go through it.” Pastor reads the Scripture passage, which includes how Jesus feeds the five thousand. He describes the difference between course work (book study) and field work (hand’s on). He goes on to explain that there are lessons you can’t learn while being warm, dry and comfortable; some lessons can only be learned when cold, wet, terrified and exhausted. He preaches that in the field, we learn that Jesus: 1 – will heal, 2 – will provide, 3 – will meet us in the storm. So: Take heart.
