Matthew 16:21-28

April 5, 2026

In this sermon, Pastor Nathan asks us to consider: “What is the hardest thing to do voluntarily? What decision?” In the Bible and this Scripture passage, Jesus is calling us to make a decision. You must decide to follow Jesus or waste your life. This Scripture passage reminds us that Jesus came, died, rose and will come again to judge. So: 1 – Follow Him, 2 – Don’t waste your life, 3 – Decide to follow Jesus, which requires a deep, internal change. Pastor reminds us that if you believe the Gospel, you will be changed by the Gospel. In this sermon, Pastor Nathan asks us to consider: “What is the most important question?” Vocation? Who to marry? The most important question for us to answer is “who is Jesus to you”? This Scripture passage tells us that Jesus is God’s Son, the Savior King. So: 1 – Ask Him to save you, 2 – Learn to obey Him, 3 – Join Him on His mission. Matthew 14:13-36

In this sermon, Pastor Nathan teaches: “Get to know Jesus while you go through it.” Pastor reads the Scripture passage, which includes how Jesus feeds the five thousand. He describes the difference between course work (book study) and field work (hand’s on). He goes on to explain that there are lessons you can’t learn while being warm, dry and comfortable; some lessons can only be learned when cold, wet, terrified and exhausted. He preaches that in the field, we learn that Jesus: 1 – will heal, 2 – will provide, 3 – will meet us in the storm. So: Take heart. In this sermon, Pastor Nathan asks “Am I real or fake?” Pastor reads the passage that includes the parable of weeds, the parable of the mustard seed and the parable of weeds explained. Pastor goes on to preach Jesus: 1 – will end this age, 2 – will burn look-alikes, 3 – died for us. So: Repent of “faking it” and really follow Jesus.
