Colossians 1:9-14

February 18, 2024

In this series, Pastor Nathan challenges us to read the entire book of Colossians to gain better understanding. He uses a picture of a tree showing roots that represent our beliefs and the leaves represent the fruits of our behavior. The stronger roots/belief will results in more fruitful behavior. Pastor preaches that God: 1 – adopted us, 2 – delivered us, 3 – transferred us. So we should ask God to: 1 – adopt, deliver and transfer them, 2- to help them know what to do, 3 – to help them do it. In the Scripture passage, we are reminded that Christ: 1- Died for our sins and then rose from the dead, 2 – Brought us together, and 3 – Gives eternal hope. So we are to mature in Christ. In this sermon, Pastor Nathan teaches on Biblical marriage. Pastor teaches on the difference between trying and training and how they apply to marriage. The summary of the message is that God made you two people into one, so we should train for unity in marriage by: 1 – forsaking all others, 2 – connecting emotionally, 3 – finding a way to agree, 4 – opening up your heart. Matthew 9:35-38

January 28, 2024

In this sermon, Pastor Nathan asks: “What would the Lord have you ask Him for? Relief from an illness? Release from a sin? Recovery from an addiction? Or something else?” In this message, we will learn about compassion. Pastor preaches that Jesus has compassion… So we need to: 1- Ask Him for help, 2 – Trust His timing, 3 Pray earnestly for laborers. Compassion is not mere pity, it requires action or sacrifice. Pastor also reminds us that we are living between the Garden of Eden and heaven. Listen in this week, as we look at compassion in the sermon series: Renew.

In this series, we will “open” four Christmas gifts: the first gift is “Jesus taking”, the second gift is His authority, the third gift is forgiveness and the fourth gift is that He came to be with us. He came to save us from our sin. Pastor preaches that we should choose faith over fear and looked at Joseph as a case study. Jesus is God with us. Pastor preaches that sin is our biggest problem and forgiveness is the best gift. Jesus has authority to forgive sins.
