The Sluggard

A sluggard is someone who is habitually lazy or inactive and does not take personal responsibility for his own life. The Bible condemns laziness and warns of the consequences of being a sluggard.  This week Pastor Nathan reminks us that Sluggards are called to action, to work hard to honor God with their lives. “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10).

This was a celebration Sunday in many ways.  We celebrated the ministry that Pastor Scott and Angie Parmenter had here at FBC.  Pastor Scott gave the church family and many friends a charge of Friendship. Friendship with God that last forever and through that friendship we learn how to be a friend to others.  Pastor Nathan taught from II Timothy that we are all called to tell our friends, family and others about the Love of Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 9

Wisdom or Folly?  This week we look at the Simple man who so easily will follow Folly’s ways.  Simple man rarely questions or looks beyond Folly.  If they did they would see the death Folly brings.  Vs. 9 “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser” esv
