This week’s question is: “what do you believe in so much that you would wear chains or go to prison for it?” Pastor teaches that Paul was in chains for 4 years and in prison for his beliefs. God uses us to spread the Good News. So: 1 – stay spiritually fit, 2 – trust the Message, 3 – speak up – like Jesus (be wise in your speech). Pastor also teaches that thanksgiving is the anti-venom to satanic discontent. Thanksgiving is a path to God-pleasing contented joy. We are to live a Christian life together, to help us get unstuck in bad habits. We are reminded that Jesus took us with Him. So: 1 – focus on your future, 2 – put your old self behind you, 3 – put on the new self to become more like Jesus. He teaches that Jesus + nothing = everything. So: 1- hold fast to Jesus, 2 – there is no value in doing more or trying harder or berating yourself, and 3 – death and resurrection with Jesus is the answer. Only Jesus can transform your life. This week’s challenge is what to tell the voices in your head – the domain of darkness is real. Pastor preaches that Jesus conquered ALL of it on the cross. So: 1 – receive Christ Jesus the Lord, 2 – abound in thanksgiving, 3 – don’t get re-captured (by the domain of darkness). You need to tell the voices in your head that you are following Jesus. In this series, Pastor Nathan challenges us to train to mature in Christ and to read the entire book of Colossians each week to gain better understanding. The question he asks this week is: What do you joyfully give your life to? TV? Gamming? Social media? He preaches that as Christians, we are to give our lives to Jesus by doing Jesus’ work through joyful suffering. Jesus does not promise a comfortable life. Jesus: 1 – works through joyful suffering, 2 – gives eternal hope, 3 – gives energy for His work, 4 – is the goal. So what will you give your life to? Listen in this week, as we look at how to joyfully give our lives to Jesus in the sermon series: Mature in Christ.

In this Scripture passage, Paul writes to help people hold onto their faith. We are reminded that Jesus is God, seeable; Jesus is the Creator; and Jesus is the Reconciler.
